Orthopedist Baden-Baden

Medical check-up & sports check-up

More than orthopaedics: focusing on the whole person

Musculoskeletal complaints often have complex causes – the problem does not always lie exclusively in the musculoskeletal system itself. Our holistic medical and sports check-up therefore goes far beyond the classic orthopaedic examination.
As your orthopaedist in Baden-Baden, we analyze your state of health comprehensively – including your cardiovascular system, metabolism, posture and muscular balance. The aim is not only to treat symptoms, but also to identify their triggers – be it due to physical strain, muscular imbalances, stress or organic connections.

For anyone who is regularly active, it is important to know how resilient their body actually is. Our sports check-up is aimed at recreational athletes as well as ambitious athletes who want to optimize their performance or prevent complaints.

We assess the current physical condition holistically – identify muscular weaknesses, movement restrictions or postural faults and thus create a sound basis for safe, healthy training. A particular focus is on the prevention of overuse and sports injuries, which are often caused by undetected incorrect strain.

A central element of the check-up is the digital body measurement. Using modern measurement technology, we record your posture, pelvic position, leg axes, the course of your spine and muscular imbalances.
This data provides us with precise indications of functional disorders – even if there are no noticeable symptoms. Body measurement is a valuable tool, especially for active athletes or patients with chronic problems, for creating individual treatment plans, controlling training stimuli in a targeted manner and avoiding relapses.

Shock wave therapy

Reducing pain with the help of energy

Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a modern pain therapy for chronic shoulder pain (calcific shoulder), heel spurs, “tennis and golfer’s elbow” and chronic tendonitis in the hip and knee area. During treatment, high-dose pressure pulses are transmitted directly to the affected pathological area using a transducer applicator, allowing the concentrated shock waves to have a targeted calcium-dissolving and anti-inflammatory effect.
Shock wave treatment only takes around 20-30 minutes and is essentially free of side effects. The treatment permanently activates the body’s own processes, such as metabolism, so that the body can heal itself. Damaged tendon tissue can be repaired and calcifications, such as in calcified shoulder, can be removed.

Human-identical hormone therapy

When complaints have hormonal causes

Joint pain, muscle loss, tension or chronic fatigue – without any clear orthopaedic findings?
Such complaints can be related to a hormonal imbalance – for example during the menopause, in the event of prolonged stress or in the natural ageing process. These changes often develop gradually and remain undetected for a long time.
In our practice, we therefore also include the hormonal level in our diagnostics, especially when traditional orthopaedic therapies are not effective or symptoms occur repeatedly.
Targeted laboratory diagnostics (blood or saliva tests) can help to detect hormone deficiencies at an early stage. The subsequent therapy is individually tailored – for example with human-identical oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone or DHEA – depending on the symptoms and laboratory values.

Human-identical hormones are biologically produced hormones from plants that correspond exactly to the body’s own hormones. They are usually obtained from plant precursors (e.g. yam or soya) and are considered to be particularly well tolerated – as they are recognized by the body as its “own” hormones. In contrast to classic hormone preparations, which are often structurally altered, human-identical hormones have a natural regulating effect – without the typical side effects of many conventional therapies.
  • Muscle weakness and decreasing muscle tone
  • Joint complaints without structural findings
  • Tendon irritation, ligament weakness, unstable joints
  • Decrease in bone density (osteopenia, osteoporosis)
  • Poor regeneration after sport, stress or injury

As your orthopaedist in Baden-Baden, we will competently look after your health with a wide range of services, experience and personal commitment.

Regenerative sports medicine & sports surgery

Innovative therapies and interventions for joints, muscles and tendons

Movement is quality of life – whether during sport or in everyday life. When pain, injuries or wear and tear restrict mobility, modern regenerative sports medicine and sports surgery procedures help to restore full performance. As your orthopaedist in Baden-Baden, we combine state-of-the-art conservative therapies such as magnetic field, shock wave or autologous blood procedures with minimally invasive surgical interventions. This enables us to treat complaints in a targeted manner, promote healing processes and provide long-term support for both recreational and competitive athletes as well as non-athletes.

In electrical magnetic field therapy, the body is gently stimulated with electromagnetic impulses. These work deep into the tissue, stimulate cell metabolism and improve blood circulation. This can accelerate healing processes, inhibit inflammation and alleviate pain.
In orthopaedics and sports medicine, we use magnetic field therapy particularly for overuse injuries, osteoarthritis, chronic joint and back pain and to support regeneration after injuries or operations.
Osteoarthritis is a chronic joint disease in which the protective joint cartilage gradually wears away. This leads to the joint surfaces rubbing against each other more and more, resulting in pain, inflammation and restricted movement. The knees, hips, shoulders and hands are particularly frequently affected.
As cartilage tissue can only regenerate to a very limited extent, our treatment is not aimed at complete regeneration, but at noticeably alleviating the symptoms and slowing down the progression of the disease. To achieve this, we rely on a multimodal treatment concept that combines procedures such as manual therapy, shock wave therapy, laser and magnetic field therapy. These methods improve blood circulation, have an anti-inflammatory effect and activate the metabolic processes in the joint.
The aim of our arthrosis therapy is to reduce pain, improve mobility and delay surgical interventions as far as possible.

For chronic joint complaints or sports injuries, the body’s own healing processes can be specifically supported. Here we rely on biological procedures such as autologous blood therapy (PRP / ACP) and stem cell therapy.

  • In autologous blood therapy, a small amount of blood is taken and processed in a special procedure. The plasma obtained contains a high concentration of growth factors, which are injected into the affected region. This inhibits inflammation, relieves pain and supports the healing of tendons, ligaments or joints.
  • Stem cell therapy goes one step further: stem cells obtained from the body’s own tissue have the potential to repair damaged structures and initiate regeneration. In orthopaedics, this procedure can be particularly useful for osteoarthritis or persistent sports injuries.

The aim of both methods is to use the body’s own resources to stimulate healing and achieve a lasting improvement in symptoms – gently, effectively and completely without foreign substances.

Sports surgery is used when conservative therapies are no longer sufficient or injuries require surgical treatment. As your orthopaedist in Baden-Baden, we primarily use minimally invasive procedures such as arthroscopic surgery on the knee, shoulder or ankle to repair, smooth or reconstruct damaged structures. Tendon and ligament injuries can also be treated in this way.
The aim of sports surgery is to restore the natural function of the musculoskeletal system, reduce pain and enable the patient to return to everyday life, work or sport as quickly and safely as possible.

Natural regeneration & performance enhancement

Innovative therapies for healing, energy and stability

Whether after an injury, for chronic complaints or to optimize performance in sport – we use the natural powers of your body with biological methods such as autologous blood therapy, ozone therapy and our specially developed pelvic power therapy. The aim is to promote healing processes, alleviate pain and increase your resilience – completely without foreign substances and in a gentle way.

In autologous blood therapy (PRP / ACP), a small amount of blood is taken, specially prepared and then injected into the affected area. The plasma obtained in this way contains a high concentration of growth factors that can activate healing processes, inhibit inflammation and alleviate pain. The method is primarily used for sports injuries, osteoarthritis or overuse injuries – gently and without any foreign substances.
In ozone autologous blood therapy, a small amount of blood is taken, enriched with a precisely dosed ozone-oxygen mixture and then returned directly to the body. In this way, the activated oxygen enters the bloodstream and unfolds its effect there: it improves blood circulation, has an anti-inflammatory effect and stimulates the metabolism.
In orthopaedics and sports medicine, we use ozone autologous blood therapy primarily to support regeneration after injuries, for chronic joint complaints or to improve performance in general. Many patients also report an increase in energy and vitality.
The pelvic power therapy we have developed is a unique method that specifically activates the pelvic floor and core muscles. This central region of the body is crucial for stability, power transmission and injury prevention. Athletes in particular – whether runners, cyclists or ball sports enthusiasts – benefit from improved body control, greater performance and faster regeneration.

Holistic regulation & energy

Innovative procedures for metabolism, regeneration and inner balance

In addition to traditional orthopaedic therapies, we also offer treatments that regulate the entire organism. The aim is to promote energy production in the cells, balance the nervous system and thus support regeneration, stress reduction and well-being holistically. Two modern procedures are at the heart of this:

Interval hypoxia-hyperoxia therapy (IHHT) is an innovative “cell training”. Using a breathing mask, patients alternately breathe in air that is low in oxygen (hypoxia) and high in oxygen (hyperoxia). This rhythm acts like a workout for the mitochondria – the power plants of our cells.
The result: more energy, improved regenerative capacity and the elimination of damaged mitochondria. IHHT is particularly suitable for chronic fatigue, metabolic disorders, poor performance or for improving performance in sport.
The vagus nerve is the central nerve of the parasympathetic nervous system and is therefore crucial for relaxation, regeneration and healing processes. Stress, chronic pain or overuse can disrupt the function of the vagus nerve – with consequences for overall well-being.
Vagus therapy involves stimulating the vagus nerve with gentle impulses via small electrodes on the ear. The treatment lasts around 20-40 minutes, is usually felt as a slight tingling sensation and can be carried out in a relaxed position. This activates the parasympathetic nervous system – which supports stress reduction, inner peace and the body’s own regeneration. The method is suitable for stress-related complaints as well as for accompanying orthopaedic pain therapy.

Manual and holistic therapy methods

Gentle methods for less pain and more mobility

Many musculoskeletal complaints are caused by blockages, poor posture or an imbalance between muscles, joints and nerves. Using gentle, holistic methods such as chiropractic, osteopathy, acupuncture and manual therapy, we support the body in releasing tension, regaining mobility and providing lasting pain relief. The focus is always on the person as a whole – not just the individual symptom.

  • Chiropractic therapy: Special techniques are used to release functional disorders and blockages in the spine or other joints. The aim is to relieve pain and improve mobility.
  • Osteopathy: Osteopathy looks at the body as a whole. Using manual techniques, movement restrictions in muscles, fascia or organs are detected and gently treated in order to activate the body’s self-healing powers.
  • Acupuncture: The energy flow of the body is regulated by the targeted placement of fine needles at specific points. Acupuncture can relieve pain, release tension and harmonize the autonomic nervous system.
  • Manual therapy: This is used to treat functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Special grip techniques are used to mobilize joints, relax muscles and improve the interaction between nerves and muscles.

Infusion therapies

For vitality, regeneration and well-being

Infusion therapies use the direct route via the bloodstream: nutrients, vitamins or special substances enter the circulation directly and are immediately available to the cells. This allows them to be absorbed much more efficiently than through food or dietary supplements.

As your orthopaedist in Baden-Baden, we use infusions as supplementary components in a holistic treatment concept – for example to support the body’s own regeneration, to strengthen the immune system or to promote energy and performance. A special form is the NAD+ infusion, which can stimulate the energy metabolism of the cells and support regeneration.

Which infusion is right for you depends on your individual situation and your goals. After a detailed consultation, we will develop a suitable concept that is tailored to your needs.
